Yunnan 2017 Aged White Tea “White Elephant” Tea Cake (100g)
Our latest aged white tea, “White Elephant,” is made from one bud with two to three leaves, harvested from 400-year-old ancient arbor tea trees (arbor tea trees have a tall, tree-like structure). The tea was originally made in 2017 and pressed into tea cakes in 2023.
Following the traditional white tea processing method, the leaves undergo a carefully controlled withering process, alternating between indoor withering and sun withering to precisely regulate fermentation.
The tea then enters an anaerobic aging process, during which oxidation and anoxia alternate throughout the resting period to develop its unique aroma. After two years of this slow drying and aging process, the tea reaches its final form.
Because it is not subjected to high-temperature roasting, the tea retains many of its active compounds. It is best stored sealed and away from light for optimal long-term aging.
